Peek-a-boo cut-outs, prints, colour and shine – those were the key elements as Australia's top designers showed off their hottest swimwear looks for Antipodean summer 2004-2005.

Resort wear is white-hot at Nicola Finetti, who showed off looks ranging from a gold one-piece accessorised with a lime green ballet-style top to a tiny sequinned bikini topped off with a bolero jacket. Both swimwear and the label's feminine wispy summer frocks were paired with head scarves, adding a bit of drama to the overall look.

The bold holidaymaker is likely to find the perfect swimwear option at Zimmerman, which showed off a number of daring looks. Vibrant prints were a must in the collection, alongside jewel-toned sequins, halter necks, diamond-shaped cutouts and leopard motifs.

Australian fashion week, which continues until May 8, showcases the work of nearly 100 designers from Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.
