England's newest sporting hero Wayne Rooney got away from it all this week, jetting to the Caribbean island of Barbados for some fun in the sun with girlfriend Colleen.
Now without the plaster cast that he had to sport after a foot injury took him out of the Euro 2004, Wayne was free to enjoy the island's scenic beach to the fullest, splashing in the surf with his sweetheart.
However, his minders warned him against hopping on a jetski, leaving the 18-year-old to watch Colleen ride the waves on her own.
But later, his new tattoo on display, Wayne planted a smooch on his girlfriend as she returned to greet him on shore.
When not showering his girlfriend with kisses on the beach, Wayne, who has been compared with football legend Paul Gascoigne, leisurely read the former England player's biography, Gazza: My Story, as he relaxed poolside at his luxury hotel.
