Dressed for the UK's unpredictable springtime weather, Robbie Williams and Notting Hill actor Rhys Ifans nonetheless looked like they might be soon spending some time in the sun at one of the most luxurious new resorts in the Maldives.

The two dropped in at trendy London restaurant Sketch to help celebrate the launch of the six-star One and Only Reethi Rah luxury hotel, set to open in May.

There are 130 villas at the resort, all of which feature elegant yet contemporary island décor. Amenities, from plasma screen TVs to scenic private beaches, are designed to appeal to all types of well-heeled holidaymakers.

The jewels of the resort are the spacious $2,440-per-night Grand Beach suites, where guests enjoy a hidden villa on its own piece of coastline, and the Grand Ocean Villas, surrounded by decks and set on stilts above the lagoon, with sunbathing nets suspended over water and a private pool.

Nestled on one of the largest islands on the North Malé Atoll, the exclusive hideaway promises to be a celebrity magnet. And Wednesday's kickoff for the Indian Ocean holiday spot certainly drew its fair share of star power. Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson, actor Dougray Scott, actress Anna Friel, Hollywood star Val Kilmer and celebrity couple Yasmin and Simon LeBon were all on the guest list.
