Named 'Best international medical spa 2010' by the prestigious Conde Nast Traveller, and 'Spain's best health hotel' by Hostelco – equivalent to winning an Oscar in the Spanish hospitality world – the Sha Wellness Clinic offers the very best in relaxation and wellness treatments. The centre has a strong focus on understanding health as more than simply the absence of illness; here, true health is believed to be a balance of physical and mental well-being, where the vitality for each person to reach and enjoy their full potential is seen as an integral part of the whole.

The clinic resort uses a combination of the best natural therapies – many originating in ancient eastern wisdom  – and state-of-the-art western techniques. The team of experts include specialists in natural medicine, nutrition, traditional Chinese medicine and anti-ageing.

The clinic has 93 suites of various sizes, from a spacious 70 square metres up to the vast 320 square metres of the Presidential Suite which is split across two levels. In keeping with the resort's holistic philosophy, close attention has been paid to every detail of light, design, sound, texture and fragrance, with a result that is both elegant and comfortable.

The centre boasts an extensive library, whose shelves house many volumes on health and beauty, and a tea room where experts can advise on the most appropriate and beneficial herbal infusions for each individual guest. As well as paddle-tennis courts, the facilities also include two putting greens for guests to put in a little practice, between rounds at one of the four nearby golf courses.

The location, on Spain's beautiful Costa Blanca, was chosen for its excellent climate, which is complemented by the tranquillity of the setting and the stunning views. The whole resort has a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere about it, and offers the perfect setting for meditation and retreat, an ideal place to recover from the stresses of work and the modern world: it's no wonder it has become a firm favourite with celebs and dignitaries.
