Milan Fashion Week offers hot swimwear inspiration

For those lucky enough to have a beach holiday planned this autumn, there was inspiration aplenty on display at Milan Fashion Week in the summer 2004 swimwear collections. And the look was hot, hot, hot.

From naughty nautical stripes to scorching passion pinks, the uniting theme was definitely the barely-there approach. Tanned bottoms peeked cheekily from high-cut briefs, while minimalist micro-kinis dominated the catwalk.

"Well, hello sailor!" was obviously the theme at Blugirl, and Blumarine also took the plunge into stripes. Navy aside, leaping off the runway were a sizzling array of sharp citrus and cool watermelon tones.

Croatian model Nina Moric strutted her stuff for Pin-Up in a sugar pink two-piece provocatively teamed with devilish horns and black silk gloves, and a pastel "bull's eye" affair.
