Brad Pitt is experiencing a career high, days before his daughter, Zahara Jolie, legally dropped his last name.

The 62-year-old actor's newest film, Heart of the Beast, premiered on Friday, September 25, 2026, and Zahara changed her name on Tuesday, September 29. She is Brad's third child to legally remove his last name from theirs.

The first of the Jolie-Pitt brood to remove Brad's name was his lookalike daughter Shiloh, who filed to drop her dad's name on her 18th birthday back in 2024. And in early September, Maddox, 25, officially changed his name too.

Back in 2020, the actor was pictured with his teammates in his school yearbook, in photos released by MyHeritage, who also colorized the images. In the throwback photos, Brad looks just like Shiloh, 20.

Brad attended Kickapoo High School in Springfield, Missouri before going off to the University of Missouri. Judging by his time at school, it appears Brad could have had a career as a sportsman if he wanted to. He was also a member of the golf, tennis, and swimming teams and participated in school debates and musicals.

Inside the actor's tense relationship with his children

Brad, who separated from ex-wife Angelina Jolie in September 2016, rarely discusses his relationship with children. Angelina, 51, alleges that she ended her relationship with the actor after a violent altercation on a private plane.

While Brad denies the allegations, his children have distanced themselves from him ever since. In an August 2026 interview with Esquire, the actor opened up about some of his darker thoughts for the first time, tying them back to what he cryptically dubbed issues with his "family."

While discussing the highs and lows of life, Brad stated: "I was never suicidal in any way. It just was not my makeup. In fact, if I have any afflictions, it's probably being a congenital optimist."

He later added: "Anyway, I've never been suicidal except for one little period. And in that one little period, I just thought—I just couldn't—just didn't see a way out." When asked if the thoughts were tied to "kid stuff," Brad simply responded: "Family stuff," with a nod, adding: "We could leave it at that."

Brad Pitt's life after Angelina Jolie

After the famous couple split in 2016, Brad's career continued to soar. In 2020, he won an Oscar for his role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and he starred in the Oscar nominated film F1.

Outside of his life on screen, Brad's personal life is blossoming too. He started dating Ines de Ramon, 33, in 2022. The couple made their official debut at the 2024 British Grand Prix, stepping into the spotlight despite their 29-year age difference.

Brad was previously asked by GQ whether his relationship debut with the jewelry designer deliberately occurred at the same time as the release of his movie F1. "No, dude, it's not that calculated," he replied.

"If you're living, oh my God, how exhausting would that be? If you're living with making those kinds of calculations? No, life just evolves. Relationships evolve."
