Katie welcomed her daughter on April 18, 2006, in Los Angeles with then-husband Tom Cruise. Suri is studying at Carnegie Mellon University, and is thought to be majoring in a creative subject. Her sophomore year at college began on August 26 following a summer break spent with her mom in New York.
Ahead of her daughter's college departure, Katie told Town & Country: "You want them to stay with you forever, but they're these amazing beings, and you have to do everything you can to give them what they need – and then they're going to go. And that's going to be very, very sad for me," she said.
