Ryan Gosling was one of many stars on The All-New Mickey Mouse Club who went on to find major success, including Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears and, of course, Justin Timberlake.

When Ryan's mother had to return to Canada for work, the Timberlake family hosted him and Justin's mother was briefly the actor's legal guardian.

Some of the coolest names in Hollywood today started out sharing an LA flat

Andrew Garfield's artistic struggle and bohemian flat in Tick, Tick, Boom isn't too far from the actor's own reality. While now-famous names Jamie Dornan, Eddie Redmayne, Charlie Cox and Andrew were trying to make it as actors the four bunked in together in an LA flat.

Andrew opened up about the time they were all still finding their feet during an appearance with Jamie on The Late Late Show, saying: "We were the kind of guys that would go to The Standard Hotel on Sunset Boulevard to play ping pong for hours and order one cocktail or a burger between us because we couldn’t afford anymore.”

Gwyneth and Winona were close friends and even roommates during the late '90s

The ultimate '90s 'It Girls' shared a flat in New York City and the reportedly inseparable pair even dated fellow besties Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.

The year after Gwyneth moved in following her split from Brad Pitt in 1997, they reportedly went separate ways after the actress found the script for Shakespeare in Love in the house and asked to audition for the role, which would earn her an Oscar (though Gwyneth has fiercely denied this script-stealing rumor for decades!).

Matt and Ben are Hollywood's favourite pair of besties

Perhaps Hollywood's best-loved bromance, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck lived together in LA, going so far as to share a bank account, while writing the script for Good Will Hunting.

Ben told Playboy in 1999: "We rented this house on the beach in Venice and 800 people came and stayed with us and got drunk. Then we ran out of money and had to get an apartment."

It doesn't get much more iconic than Michael Douglas or Danny DeVito – but did you know the pair once lived together? The pair look back fondly on their time in the '60s attending acting school in NYC.

The pair have co-starred in four movies, The Jewel of the Nile, Romancing the Stone, The War of the Roses and Solitary Man, and seem just as close now as ever before.

Emma and Bradley co-habited for a week while filming 'Aloha in Hawaii'

Emma Stone and Bradley Cooper are some of Hollywood's most recognisable actors, proving even A-list celebs will happily let their friends crash when the need arises.

While filming 2015's Aloha in Hawaii, the two spent most of their time filming apart but when Bradley's lease was up, Emma invited him to stay for a week. They spoke about their time co-habiting to E! Newin 2015, with Emma explaining "we were roommates" before Bradley jumped in to clarify, "Housemates!".

Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams

Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams starred together in 2010's Blue Valentine and lived together for almost a month. The directors had asked the pair to live together for a week but, fortunately, they got on so well that the arrangement stretched a bit longer.

Michelle told Us Weekly, "He's so hard to hate. He does the dishes, and he takes care of the kids!" Appearing twice on our round-up, it seems Ryan Gosling is ideal roommate material!

Superman Christopher Reeve and Dead Poets Society star Robin Williams were two of only 20 students accepted into Juilliard in 1973. The pair were put together as roommates and Robin's widow described them as "closer than brothers".

In Christopher's 1998 autobiography, he explained: "Robin was able to share his real feelings with me, and I always did the same with him. This has remained true for 25 years."
