Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos enjoyed a special family getaway to Italy over the long weekend as they celebrated the wedding of Mark's nephew in Tuscany. The couple opened up about the nuptials during the May 18 episode of LIVE.
"We had a beautiful family event this weekend. The first in the next generation of Consueloses has gotten married," shared Kelly. "Our nephew, Alec, got married to his beautiful fiancée, Deanna [Taylor]."
"Mark, I have to say, you win the Uncle of the Year Award because you spent more hours on the plane than at the wedding," she added.
© ABCKelly's husband later revealed that he was determined to attend the wedding, though scheduling conflicts meant it was a close call. "I flew after my show Thursday night, landed Friday morning, went to the wedding, and then Saturday morning, I was back on a plane," Mark explained. "I just missed a couple shows, but I was back on stage Saturday night, which was great." Mark is currently starring in the Broadway play Fallen Angels.
Fallen Angels began previews on March 27 before opening on April 19, ending its limited engagement on June 7 at the Todd Haimes Theatre. An official synopsis for the play reads: "Sparkling, dizzying, and deliciously potent, Noël Coward's champagne-fresh comedy of bad manners shocked and delighted audiences in its 1925 premiere."

Family celebration
Kelly shared photographs of the nuptials and gushed over a snap of the happy couple embracing during their rehearsal dinner. "It’s the one picture I got of them that’s actually a clear photo," she said. "And that’s Lola’s hand capturing the same exact photo. So, we both had the great idea."
© ABCThe couple share three children – Michael, Lola, and Joaquin. Another picture captured Kelly and Mark sitting beside Lola and her boyfriend, Cassius, during the ceremony. "Our son Michael served as a groomsman. There he is," Kelly said as she showed the audience a photo of herself and Mark with their eldest son. "And if you look at my hair, and you go, 'Kelly, what happened to your hair?' Well, Michael borrowed my hairspray because he said, 'I promise I’ll give it back./ He didn't give it back, and so, there it is."
"[It was a] great wedding. Beautiful," Kelly concluded.
