Kelly Ripa opened up about an unexpected wardrobe malfunction she experienced while staying in a high-rise building in Los Angeles. The ABC star never imagined anyone could see her nude from that height – until she spotted a drone flying past her window.
The LIVE host shared the story during the May 14 instalment of the show, following a discussion on how LA had become a "recent UFO hotspot" according to the National UFO Reporting Center. Kelly and Mark Consuelos read that there had been 14 sightings in LA that couldn't be explained.
"When we were in Los Angeles, do you remember the drone outside of our window? That was crazy. Because I had just gotten out of the shower, and we're on the ninth floor, so I'm not worried about people seeing me," Kelly said.
"So I get out of the shower. I drop my towel, and I wrap it around my hair. I'm looking upside down, and I see a drone staring at me through the window. It was from a really bad angle. It was like over the middle of the street."
However, Mark interrupted the anecdote to clarify that the drone hadn't directly peered into their hotel room, but was rather at a similar ninth-floor level. "It was, like, over the middle of the street. It was. It was our height, though. It wasn't like outside of our window. It's like, in the middle of the street, could have been filming or looking at whatever," he explained.
"We could have heard about it by now," Mark said of the incident.
Kelly Ripa's wardrobe malfunction
This isn't the first time Kelly has found herself in an awkward situation revolving around her clothes. During an episode of LIVE in December, the host was captured getting dressed on-air.
Mark kicked off the show by asking his wife, "Are you getting dressed?"
"I’m still getting dressed," Kelly admitted. "Hey guys, I’m not going to lie, 10 seconds ago, I was not dressed at all. And now I'm sort of half-dressed." Mark then playfully attempted to steal a glance at his wife’s blouse while she was adjusting it. "Łęt me see, let me check you out," he said. "No no, I’m missing a lot of things. I’m missing a belt," replied Kelly.
"It looks good," Mark said. "Look, it's fine. We're all together," added Kelly. "I think my fly is up, we’re fine, we’re fine. Somehow we made it."
