If you thought Kaia Gerber couldn't look any more like her supermodel mother Cindy Crawford, think again – especially after seeing the duo coordinate their sartorial agendas with a denim twist.
The mother-and-daughter duo attended Re/Done x Kaia Gerber Short/Cuts launch event on May 20 in Los Angeles, California. Kaia was the ultimate It-girl, dressed in a pair of light-wash slouchy jeans and a white long-sleeve sweater that featured a cropped hem and backless design. The casual ensemble was styled with a pair of nude slingback heels and black sunglasses. Kaia's brunette locks were styled into soft waves while her makeup was left natural and radiant, courtesy of a smoky eye and pink lip.
Meanwhile, Cindy took style notes from the 24-year-old, as she looked equally chic. The supermodel donned a denim shirt that featured a plunging neckline with a pair of straight-leg jeans for a double-denim moment. Cindy's caramel-hud locks were styled into a bombshell blowout while her makeup oozed glam, courtesy of a bronze eye and nude lip.
Kaia joined Re/Done as an investor and creative partner earlier this year. She serves on the Los Angeles-based denim brand’s advisory board and contributes to brand strategy. "I’ve loved being part of [Re/Done’s] journey, and I’m excited to help shape what comes next – creating products and stories that feel personal, intentional and deeply connected to today’s generation," she shared in the statement at the beginning of the year.
Kaia even introduced her mom to the brand prior to the release of Cindy's 2017 capsule collection. Cindy and Rande Gerber welcomed their son, Presley Walker Gerber, in 1999, and their daughter, Kaia, in 2001.
The 24-year-old has followed in her mother’s modelling footsteps while also pursuing a career in acting. Kaia is set to star in the television adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’s novel The Shards, premiering in August.
"I didn't understand why she [Cindy] was always having her photo taken. I thought it was normal! In terms of it being something that I wanted to do, I guess I was just used to that environment. I saw how hard my mom worked, and the life that she made for herself through this career, and that really inspired me," Kaia previously told Vogue.
She continued: "One thing I will say about my mom is she's not an advice giver. A lot of what I've learned from her is more through her actions, and watching the way she navigates the world in a way that makes me so proud to be her daughter. I respect her so much."
