Kaia Gerber is mom Cindy Crawford's twin in bedazzled naked dress

Kaia Gerber put a glitzy twist on the naked dress trend as she graced the red carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of The Shards on July 27.

Cindy Crawford's daughter exuded chic in a sheer silver gown featuring crisscross sequin detailing over an opaque lining. The dress showcased a square neckline with delicate spaghetti straps and was finished with an almost metallic, liquid-like sheen. Kaia layered a simple black thong beneath the dress.

The actress's luscious brunette locks were styled into soft waves with a middle parting while her makeup oozed glam, courtesy of a smoky eye, a bronze complexion, and a nude lip.

The Shards, a Ryan Murphy-led series, is based on the book by Bret Easton Ellis. The show follows a serial killer who stalks the rich kids of LA in the '80s, with the official synopsis reading: "Igby Rigney stars as Bret, an aspiring writer and keenly observant teenager whose reality begins to unravel with the arrival of a mysterious and magnetic new student, Robert Mallory (Homer Gere)."

"Transferring in just before his senior year, Robert's appearance coincides with the growing terror of The Trawler, a serial killer targeting teenagers across the city," the synopsis continued.

"Alongside Bret is his elite social circle, which includes Susan Reynolds (Kaia Gerber), Debbie Schaffer (Hayes Warner) and Thom Wright (Graham Campbell), a glamorous and deeply entangled group drawn into a life of wealth, beauty, parties and excess."

Prior to the premiere, Kaia stepped out in a red-hot look by Alaïa. The actress wore a gown from the maison's 2026 ready-to-wear collection, which marked couturier Pieter Mulier’s final designs as creative director for Alaïa.

The knitwear piece featured long sleeves, a round neckline and a figure-hugging silhouette. A ribbed fabric adorned the waist and cuffs of the garment while the skirt was crafted from satin. Kaia styled the look with black thong sandals.

Meanwhile, Kaia also rocked a little black dress reminiscent of her mom's signature 90s style while out in New York City.  The sleeveless, knee-length shift boasted a satin finish with a square neckline. The garment was styled with black pointed-toe heels, a shoulder bag, and oversized sunglasses.

The look alluded to Cindy's backless satin halter gown she wore to the Benefit for AIDS Project Los Angeles in 1991. The dress was completed with a daring thigh-high slit and styled with a pair of pointed-toe black pumps.
