Kylie Kelce knows her boundaries. The mom-of-four runs a "firm boundary household" with her husband Jason Kelce.

The mom to daughters Wyatt, six, Elliotte, five, Bennett, two, and Finnley, 13 months opened up to People about the parenting rule she swears by.

"Our kids know the word no. They respect the word no most days," the Not Gonna Lie podcast host said. While Kylie knows the power of the word "no," she also encourages her brood to try new things.

"I like the idea of, 'let's try this,'" she explained, noting that her daughters "do it a lot at the dinner table."

"'I know you might not think you like that, but maybe just try it.' We're huge on that," Kylie continued. "My girls will say all the time, 'You can try it. You have to try it. If you don't like it, you don't have to eat it.' So we try at the dinner table."

Kylie puts on her coaching hat when getting her daughters to try new things. Outside of motherhood, the 34-year-old is a field hockey coach. "We're big triers in our house, because much like in coaching, I don't like the word 'can't,'" she explained. "It makes things feel a little more positive because it's like, I'm gonna try. If I do it, great. If I don't, I can always try again later."

Kylie and Jason Kelce's parenting plans

Outside of encouraging their daughters to try, the famous parents are fiercely protective. In a February conversation with People, the Not Gonna Lie podcast host opened up about her and her husband's plans when it comes to social media and their daughters.

"We are really the first generation that's had access to social media for as long as we have, and during our developmental years, so we are big proponents of not allowing our kids to have that, especially when they're young," Kylie explained to the publication.

She went on: "I think it's our job as parents to let our kids be kids. Kids are meant to play. They aren't meant to be taking on the weight of the world or deal with comments online, or feel that they're not living up to this aesthetic lifestyle they see."

"So in an effort to protect our girls, I think we will make a conscious effort to make sure they get to play and enjoy life, and really, truly lean into being kids," Kylie added.

For Kylie, her and Jason's decision is more about how social media could shape the thought processes of her young daughters. "Social media can be so disappointing, because there are so many ways that it doesn't show the true scope of things, and it's not a full scope of what happens," she explained.

"Making sure that girls are confident not only sets them up to be happier, but they will also have a more joyful feeling in life, ... and that joy can drown out the other mess," she noted.
