Starship Troopers' Casper Van Dien and Denise Richards reunited 29 years later and it feels so good.
Denise shared their wholesome moment in a video posted to social media, during which she announced: "We are working together for the first time since Starship Troopers. We're not gonna say how long ago that was."
Casper joked: "A couple of days ago. We were young," as Denise added: "Exactly – a few years ago."
He continued: "You were young. I was [already] kind of old. We were very young. We still are." The duo were on the set of their new project, Key To Freedom.
Denise added that the two were right outside of Toronto before commenting: "I like these Canadians."
The star captioned the sweet video: "Reunited on set together with @caspervandien for the first time since #starshiptroopers."
Casper lovingly commented on the post: "I am so happy to be working with you again. You are the best." In another comment, he put nine heart emojis.
Fans react
Fans loved the new memories that were being made between the two as they flocked to the comments.
One person wrote: "HOLY AWESOME!!! Love this!!! I was a huge Starship Troopers fan!! All you guys!!!" A second fan added: "Still young and beautiful, both of you."
Another follower continued: "Awwww. Love seeing both you youngins collaborating once again," while one person commented: "Epic reunion."
The duo's throwback
The popular sci-fi movie came out in 1997 and Denise absolutely loved her role portraying Carmen.
She recalled: "I love my character, and the fans seem to appreciate [that] she's a strong woman. If there were negative audience reactions to her swapping between two men, I didn't hear about it. At some point or other, everyone gets dumped and does the dumping – that's young love! But for the most part I think she's a [expletive], a great role model," per The Guardian.
Casper expressed that he still gets a lot of fan love even decades after the film came out.
In 2023, Casper Salon: "I love it. I still get folks yelling quotes at me from it. I just worked on a short, and a guy on the crew shows me a pic, and it's him and I as Troopers. That movie had so many people work on it. It was one of the greatest films for me."
This isn't the first time that the two got together. Last spring the co-stars attended a panel at Chicago's Comic Con and Entertainment Expo together with Dina Meyer, Michael Ironside and Jake Busey.
