While the couple has yet to make a statement on their separation, TMZ reported that the "Wild Ones" singer filed for divorce from Bunnie on May 18 in Tennessee, in what was reportedly a mutual decision for the pair, after separating on May 9.
The couple raised Jelly Roll's two children, Bailee Ann and Noah Buddy, that he shared with his ex-girlfriend Felicia Beckwith and a woman named Melisa. Jelly, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, first met Bunnie, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, in 2015 backstage at one of his shows, and they went on to tie the knot a year later, on the same night that he proposed to her onstage.
While news of their divorce may have shocked many, some eagle-eyed fans caught a few signs pointing to their split. Keep reading to find out when fans knew Jelly Roll, 41, and Bunnie XO, 46, were headed for divorce
The country singer performed at CMA Fest in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday, June 6 and didn’t wear his wedding ring for the show. The performance was two weeks after he secretly filed for divorce.
While it may have been the first time fans noticed his missing jewelry, it had been some time since Jelly Roll wore his wedding band publicly. In February, his left ring finger was bare while at a public appearance in February.
Bunnie has 2.5 million followers on Instagram, meaning she can catch quite a few eyes. Just before news of their divorce went public, the podcaster posted a racy photo of herself in lingerie to her Instagram Story, writing: "She's getting her sparkle back."
In another Instagram Story, Bunnie posted the quote: "Come here, let me show you what love feels like."
Jelly Roll faced backlash after his Grammys acceptance speech. The singer won his first Grammy for best country duo/group performance for his song "Amen" with Shaboozey. After winning, Jelly Roll told the crowd: "Jesus is for everybody. Jesus is not owned by one political party."
"I want to thank my beautiful wife," he went on. "I would have never changed my life without you. I'd have ended up dead or in jail. I'd have killed myself if it wasn't for you and Jesus. I thank you for that."
Bunnie defended her then-husband's speech on her Dumb Blonde podcast, saying: "All he is saying is, 'Hey, Jesus is for everybody. Jesus does not belong to one political party. Jesus loves you.' And the internet lost their minds."
While we know now that Jelly Roll and Bunnie are done, the two faced speculation over their relationship throughout the years. In August 2025, Bunnie said on her podcast: "Someone said the other day, 'They used to always be together, and now you never see them together.'"
She went on: "I'm like, 'Do you guys not know that for the past six months [that] I've been trying to make a baby?'"
Over their relationship Bunnie was open about her journey with IVF, going through the highs and lows of the process and understands the toll it can take, especially financially.
