Sharon Osbourne has shared a health update after revealing she was forced to miss a moving tribute to her late husband, Ozzy Osbourne, following an unexpected trip to hospital.

The 73-year-old took to Instagram on Friday, June 19 2026 to explain her absence from the unveiling of a giant new statue honouring the Black Sabbath frontman at Hellfest in France.

Sharing a video of the striking 20-foot sculpture, Sharon wrote: "I'm sorry I couldn't be at Hellfest for the unveiling of Ozzy's statue. Unfortunately I had an unexpected trip to the hospital earlier in the week."

She added: "A big thank you Olivier Garnier, Ben Barbaud and everyone at Hellfest. Special thank you to @philippe_pasqua_officiel for the absolutely stunning statue!"

Sharon did not provide any further details about her hospital visit, with fans quickly taking to the comments section to send their love and well wishes.

The tribute came less than a year after Ozzy's death in July 2025. The legendary rocker was 76 when he died, with his death certificate later listing cardiac arrest and acute myocardial infarction, commonly known as a heart attack, among the causes of death. Coronary artery disease and Parkinson's disease with autonomic dysfunction were also listed.

Ozzy had been open about his Parkinson's diagnosis in the years before his death, while Sharon was by his side throughout his long and often difficult health journey.

The couple, who married in 1982, built one of rock music's most enduring and unconventional love stories, while also becoming household names through their hit reality series The Osbournes. Together, they shared children Aimee, Kelly and Jack, and Sharon has continued to honour Ozzy's legacy in the months since his death.

The Hellfest sculpture, created by French artist Philippe Pasqua, captures the larger-than-life spirit of the Prince of Darkness and offers fans another place to celebrate his enormous influence on heavy metal.

Sharon came under criticism recently and had to set rumours straight after critics claimed the Ozzy AI project she and son Jack were working on was a 'cash grab'

The pair defended their family's decision to digitize the late Black Sabbath rocker during an appearance on The Osbournes podcast on Friday, June 5.

When Jack brought up some of the criticism they had received after announcing in May that Ozzy would be the subject of an AI avatar, Sharon responded: "I was reading some of them, and it's like, 'Oh, [expletive] off. Give me a break."
