Melanie Griffith was spotted on a rare outing in Beverly Hills this week, but it wasn't her radiant complexion or stylish ensemble that stole the show.

The 68-year-old looked incredibly youthful wearing a Frida Kahlo Daft Punk T-shirt that showed off her sizable arm tattoo, completing her look in light blue jeans, sandals, lace gloves, and sunglasses.

Melanie famously had a heart-shaped "Antonio" tattoo dedicated to her ex-husband, Antonio Banderas, on her upper right arm before their 2014 split after 18 years of marriage.

However, after their divorce, she had it removed and eventually covered up with a tattoo that references her children, which was on full display during her latest outing.

The inking, which she debuted in July 2023, is a crossword-style tattoo that features the names of her four kids, Stella, Alexander, Dakota, and her stepson Jesse.

Melanie and Antonio's relationship

The former couple first met in 1989, but it wasn't until they starred as a couple in the 1995 movie, Too Much, that sparks began to fly.

"It was very, very fast and very compulsive, but at the same time, we were tied at the time," Antonio recalled in a 2002 interview with Diane Sawyer.

"We tried as much as we could to be respectful. We just thought this may be one of those, you know, infatuation moments that we have when we shoot movies because we got to play together a couple, so let's just go home."

Melanie and Antonio married the following year on May 14, 1996, at Marylebone Town Hall in London, England.

Melanie filed for divorce on June 6, 2014, citing "irreconcilable differences." Their divorce was finalised the following year.

In a statement sent by their rep at the time, the couple said: "We have thoughtfully and consensually decided to finalise our almost twenty years marriage in a loving and friendly manner, honoring and respecting each other, our family and friends and the beautiful time we have spent together."

During their marriage, they welcomed one child together, their daughter Stella in 1996.

"Stella is not so much of an actress," Antonio told HELLO! about his daughter in an exclusive 2025 interview.

"She wants to be behind the camera, and she's driving herself into that. She has made some commercials. She's now doing short movies, and I suppose that she is going to end up doing a feature film, but she's too shy to be in front of the camera. She prefers to be behind it."

When Antonio married Melanie, he became a stepfather to the star's two children from her previous marriages. Melanie welcomed her first son, Alexander Griffith Bauer, with her second husband Steven Bauer in 1985.

Antonio and Melanie have remained 'lifelong friends'

She then had her daughter, Dakota Johnson, in 1989 when she reunited with her first husband, actor Don Johnson. Melanie became a stepmother to his son Jesse. Antonio, meanwhile, was previously married to Ana Leza from 1987 to 1996.

Melanie and Antonio have remained close since their split, with The Mask of Zorro star calling her his "lifelong friend" in an Instagram post earlier this year.
