Kathy Griffin has broken the internet after seemingly hard-launching a relationship with a man 43 years her junior.
The 65-year-old comedian encouraged her fans to "have at it" when she shared a photo of herself holding hands with a mystery younger man, who she revealed is 22 years old.
In the photo, the handsome man is opening the car door for Kathy, who looks stunning in a little black dress, as they appear to be leaving together after an evening out.
While she didn't reveal his identity or clarify their relationship, she alluded to their romance by captioning the telling photo: "He's 22. Have at it, internet."
Her followers did not disappoint, inundating the post with hilarious comments, mostly in support of her apparent 43-year age-gap relationship.
"As @bettemidler would say, '22 goes into 65 better than 65 goes into 22,'" one amused follower responded. A second said: "You only get one go around…have fun while you're doing it!"
A third added: "Since they all eventually act like five-year-olds anyway, might as well go for shiny and new. Less maintenance and upkeep." A fourth wrote: "He's 22? Perfect. Old enough to vote, young enough to think Olive Garden is fancy. Go have fun."
Kathy is no stranger to dating younger men. She married actor and IT consultant Matt Moline, who was almost 10 years younger than her, in February 2001, but they divorced in 2006 after he reportedly secretly withdrew over $70,000 from her private bank accounts while she was asleep.
After a nine-year on-and-off relationship, Kathy married marketing executive Randy Bick in 2020, when she was 59, and he was 42. She filed for divorce in December 2023, which was finalized in January 2025.
Kathy's apparent new boyfriend, however, is not the first man in his twenties she has dated. Last year, she revealed that she had "accidentally fallen in love with a 23-year-old."
"I accidentally fell in love with a 23-year-old…Because of his age, he didn't have the usual sexism, misogyny, and biases guys my age tend to have," she said in an essay for The Cut.
She continued: "I thought he was smart. I thought he could roll in different worlds. It sounds cliché, and maybe he was an old soul, but I don't know, we just clicked."
Recalling their romance, she explained: "I really was in love with him. He touched my heart. He came along at a time in my life where I was like, 'Men suck, and there's only bad ones, and why do I pick the worst ones?'
"And then he appeared, and I was like, 'Oh, okay, well, he's cool, but it's dumb, because he's too young.'"
Revealing they ultimately split because of her "baggage," she said: "We gave it a shot anyway, and we both went with it for a while, and then it came time to go.
"He made me feel sexy and special and smart and funny. It had a lot of the elements of what I think would've made a real, lasting relationship.
"He hadn't been banged around that much. He's so young that he didn't have this baggage. And I just knew that my baggage was gonna get in the way."
