It's another year of wedded bliss for Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan!
Michael, 65, and Tracy, 66, have been together for over 40 years. The pair first met on the set of the former's sitcom Family Ties, when the latter was cast as Ellen Reed, the girlfriend of Michael's character Alex Keaton.
They began working together in 1985, although they didn't start dating until they were reunited in 1987 while filming Bright Lights, Big City. Their relationship finally blossomed, resulting in them tying the knot on July 16, 1988.
38 years, four kids, and an ongoing battle with Parkinson's disease later, they're still going strong and look just like those 20 year olds that first fell in love.
Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan's stunning anniversary tributes
The Back to the Future star took to his Instagram page with a snap of himself and Tracy cozied up on a bench outside what looked to be their beachfront home in Quogue in the Hamptons. Michael wore a white tee with black sweats, with Tracy dressed in a patterned semi-sheer white cover-up, paired with sunglasses and a bright yellow bucket hat.
"Every day is a holiday, and anniversaries are even better. Love you so," Michael sweetly captioned the photo. Tracy returned the favor with a throwback snap for a tribute as well, with the couple pictured at a party. "Happy Anniversary sweetie! I love you so!!!" the Law & Order actress captioned hers.
The secret to Michael and Tracy's long marriage
Speaking with People last year, Michael confidently said of his wife of nearly four decades: "She's my best friend, my partner. Tracy's the first person I check in with and the last person I check in with."
"I think we really listen to each other, we are there for each other when we need each other," Tracy previously told the publication of what makes their relationship tick. "And then we also give each other space when that's needed. Just feeling off of what's needed at the moment and trying to be there."
"Tracy gives our family everything that we need," he continued to gush. "Any good in our family, anything good that we do, comes from her."
Tracy's support through Michael's Parkinson's battle
The Shrinking star has been open also about the incredible support Tracy offered him when he was diagnosed with Parkinson's in his late 20s, championing him through his worsening health and co-founding the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
"I was told I only had 10 years left to work," he said in 2022 when presented with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. "The hardest part of my diagnosis was grappling with the certainty of the diagnosis and the uncertainty of the situation."
"[My wife Tracy] made it clear that she was with me for the duration," he said of her. "Then I entered into seven years of denial, trying to make sense of it all. The kid who left Canada convinced that he would make anything happen, at least by working hard and by believing, now had a tall order in front of him."
