Matt Bellamy and Elle Evans quietly separated in the summer of 2025 following "unexpected circumstances", but have remained on good terms, focusing on their two young children, Lovella, five, and two-year-old George.
Most recently, a fan on social media thanked Elle for inspiring the latest Muse album, The Wow! Signal.
Matt previously admitted he channeled a lot of the emotional turmoil of their split into the album, which fans have highly praised. "Thank you for inspiring Matthew to write such a great album," one follower commented.
To this, the model replied: "There’s a quote I heard a long time ago that says 'What's good for your heart is bad for your heart', I guess it's true." She later corrected herself, adding: "What I meant is, 'What's good for your heart is bad for your art.'"
Matt - who is also dad to 15-year-old son Bingham - who he shares with ex-fiancé Kate Hudson - recently told The i Paper: "It's one of those situations that involves something that people wouldn't normally think it is. It was a set of really unexpected circumstances.
"It's the kind of thing no one really prepares for in life," he continued, admitting he wasn't sure how to proceed. "It threw me off, and I had to prioritise looking after the kids and creating stability at home."
He said of his new album: "It was just – boom. It would just pour out of me. It might have been the easiest album for me to make, because it was such a catharsis. It became a lifeline for me," he explained.
Discussing some of the songs on the record, he said: "'Shimmering Scars' is tricky. I think 'Space Debris' is one of my most personal tunes. But it's not all darkness. The whole album isn't just whining."
Matt and Elle dated for four years before they tied the knot in Malibu on August 10, 2019, with their close friends and family in attendance.
Remaining on good terms, in recent weeks the former couple have been pictured on social media together to celebrate their son George's birthday.
Elle posted footage of her and Matt, along with their two children, celebrating George's big day, including a clip of them singing happy birthday to him at his firefighter themed birthday party.
In the caption, she wrote: "Well well well, my beautiful & brilliant baby boy is two already. He really is smart y’all, we might just have a baby genius on our hands! We celebrated him this Tuesday May 12, which also would’ve been my sweet Mama’s 62nd birthday.
"It's such a special blessing to me that they share this happy day. "My heart burns bright for you my little fireman, my hero! Now and forever and always."
