Baywatch introduced a generation to the slow motion camera and the daily dramas of life by the beach. Star Erika Eleniak was a favourite on the series, appearing on 45 episodes in total, and helped keep the Los Angeles seaside visitors safe from harm. But what has the beloved blonde bombshell been up to since, and can we expect to see her back with the Baywatch crew any time soon?
Read on to find out about her off-screen love life, only daughter Indyanna and the roles that brought her mainstream fame – as well as an upcoming casting as councilwoman McClain...
Born 29 September 1969, Erika Eleniak is best known for her roles in Baywatch, Under Siege, Chasers and The Beverly Hillbillies.
The actress started her on-screen career with a role in 1980's Star Wars Underoos, followed by an unnamed role (credited as 'Pretty Girl') in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial in 1982, and she was soon on the road to mainstream success.
Erika welcomed her only child, daughter Indyanna, with her husband Roch in 2006. The actress regularly shares photos of the pair celebrating national holidays and is clearly very close to her daughter.
She marked National Daughters Day with a post on her Instagram, captioned: "Indy is my whole heart and my world. I always say it was she who gave me life, not the other way around. I love you, infinity, eternal ( & even after that and after THAT)."
Erika is still working today and has had several voice acting, lead and cameo roles
Following fame
After a long stint on Baywatch, Erika continued to land lead roles with projects like Under Siege, The Beverly Hillbillies and Chasers.
Her success continued into the 2000s with Dracula 3000 (2004) and Second to Die (2002). More recently, she's been credited in dark comedy TheLolipop Gang, cameoed as herself on Meet the Richardsons and narrated crime podcast The Murder Years.
Erika reportedly has several projects in the works so 'Baywatch' fans should keep their calendars clear for any release dates
Where is she now
Baywatch fans, get your calendars ready – Erika is set to reprise her role as Shauni McClain. This time, she's set for the boardroom rather than the beach as a Santa Monica city councilwoman.
She has two additional projects in the works, according to her IMDb, including a romance centring on a fictional reincarnation of Marilyn Monroe and drama Alchemy in Venice.
That signature smile won the hearts of rom-com fans across the world, but what have the heartthrob's three children been up to in front of and away from the screen?
