JD Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, have offered a sweet glimpse at their newborn son as they adjust to life as a family of six.
The US Vice President and Second Lady shared the first photographs of baby Alec Neel Vance in a joint Instagram post on Friday, five days after announcing his arrival.
"Thank you for all the good wishes as we settle into life as a family of six," the couple wrote alongside a blue heart emoji.

The photographs captured the realities of gathering four young children for a family portrait, with Alec's older siblings displaying their individual personalities as the family posed together on a cream couch.
JD looked every inch the proud father as he cradled the newborn in his arms while wearing a pale grey blazer, white shirt and blue trousers. Usha sat beside him in an elegant white dress, with sons Ewan and Vivek and daughter Mirabel gathered around their new brother.

The carousel also included a close-up of the sleeping newborn, who looked peaceful in a pale blue printed onesie with his tiny hands clasped together.
Fans were quick to congratulate the couple, with many commenting on the family's natural and relaxed photographs.

"We are excited to announce that our baby boy, Alec Neel Vance, was born this morning," he wrote. "Usha and the baby are happy and healthy, and our kids are overjoyed to meet their little brother."
JD also thanked the medical teams at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and the White House Medical Unit for caring for his wife and son.
The couple first revealed that they were expecting another boy in January, explaining that their entire family was looking forward to welcoming him in late July.
