Melania's blended family

Melania has acquired a big, blended family and she's been open about her relationship with her husband's children from previous marriages.

In her memoir titled Melania, she revealed: "Stepping into a marriage with Donald, I found myself navigating the intricate dynamics of his big family."

She continued: "It demanded flexibility and openness, but each moment was a chance to connect, learn, and grow in this new environment."

Melania provided her stepchildren space, while also continuing to be there for them as a consistent figure in their lives.

The First Lady expressed: "My approach to building relationships with Donald's children has always been grounded in love and respect. I recognize their individuality, understanding that, as their stepmother, my role is not to replace their mothers, but to nurture a supportive and amicable connection."

She explained: "This perspective has enabled me to cultivate meaningful relationships with each child in a unique way."

Melania acknowledged that at times she doesn't see eye-to-eye with both Donald's adult children and Donald himself, however, she respects everyone's opinions.

She shared: "While I may not agree with every opinion or choice expressed by Donald's grown children, nor do I align with all of Donald's decisions, I acknowledge that different viewpoints are a natural aspect of human relationships."

Melania added: "It is essential to remember that each person is deserving of respect and understanding, regardless of disagreements."

Her overall goal as both a mother and a stepmother is to be a "steady presence" in her family.

Melania's personal mindset comes down to: "Don't control, communicate!"

She also mentioned in her autobiography: "I understand that being possessive is not conducive to a healthy family dynamic. Each member requires their own space, and I have made it a priority to respect that need."

Melania's son Barron is currently a student at New York University's Stern School of Business, and is set to graduate in two years' time.
