Katherine Schwarzenegger shared a series of throwback photos of her father, Arnold Schwarzenegger, in celebration of the action star's 79th birthday on Thursday. The first snap featured Arnold carrying his eldest daughter as a baby, who wore a pink clown outfit, followed by a picture of the pair on FaceTime.
Sprinkled throughout were photos of the father of five with Katherine as a child, as well as a snap of Arnold with his ex-wife and Katherine's mother, Maria Shriver.
"Happy Birthday, Dad…So lucky you're ours… and even luckier our kids get you as Opa," the 36-year-old wrote in the caption.

Arnold celebrated his 79th birthday with fans on social media, gifting them a major deal for his fitness app, Pump Club.
"I turn 79 today. I don't want any gifts," he wrote in the caption, alongside a photo of him at an outdoor gym. "Instead, my team and I are turning the fitness industry upside down."
© InstagramHe then offered $100 off his app if users completed four of its programs. "'Arnold, I thought you were a good businessman,'" he continued.
"I am. But the Pump Club is not backed by a private equity fund or a hedge fund. It's backed by me. This is a crusade, not just a business. I've been trying to get people to train for six decades, and I finally found something that works. If I can make millions of you train all year, I'll take the loss."

The next generation
The former bodybuilder shares his kids Katherine, Christina, Patrick and Christopher with Maria, and welcomed his son Joseph Baena with his former housekeeper, Mildred Baena.
Despite their highly publicized split in 2011, Arnold and Maria have worked hard to ensure that their kids remain their number one priority, a value which Katherine has passed down to her own children.
"I think the most important thing is that unconditional love is the most important part of being a parent," she told People. "And what I think my parents have done for me is that I've felt unconditionally loved at all phases of life."
"All of the things my parents did when I was little, when I was growing up, I am really trying to implement or pass down to how I'm raising my kids," she continued. Katherine shares her kids Lyla, Eloise and Ford with her husband, Chris Pratt.

As for the parenting skills that she inherited from her famous dad, the author explained that his strict nature comes out in her on occasion.
"I guess [we're] more traditional with the chores and also the implementation of the chores and the strictness of the chores," Katherine said on the Cat and Nat Unfiltered podcast. "And this is like, probably a little bit of my father coming out, but my dad had no patience or excuses for not doing your chores."

"And I was always like, 'This is terrible. How could you do this to us? Nobody has chores like this.' Now I'm like, we're doing the same thing."
