It's been a few months since Dylan Dreyer moved out of her longtime family home in New York City and relocated to the suburbs.

The TODAY meteorologist and Third Hour co-host, 45, decided to leave her Manhattan apartment following her divorce from Brian Fichera, with whom she shares sons Calvin, Oliver and Rusty.

Dylan has frequently documented her adventures in not only navigating family life as a single mom and maintaining a close relationship with her ex as friends and co-parents, but also struggling to leave behind her home of so many years.

During a recent episode of TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle, in which she subbed in for Jenna Bush Hager opposite Sheinelle Jones, the mom-of-three candidly shared how moving to the suburbs ended up being completely the opposite of what she expected.

As you can watch in the video above, Dylan expected to find something akin to her own upbringing in a remote town, but ended up discovering what living in a community-oriented suburb can really entail, noting it "defied" her expectations.

Fans reacting to the clip on social media could identify with her message as well, leaving comments like: "I lived in apartments my whole life until I bought a home in the suburbs with a backyard so I could do gardening. I got good neighbors too. I give their kids gifts, the last batch being Misty the Cloud book series," aka Dylan's children's book series, plus: "I know I could never live in a city, I've lived in the country all my life."
