For the Hawn-Russell clan, summers are meant for sun and sand in Europe, followed by well-earned family time at home in Colorado.
For decades, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have maintained a famed estate in Old Snowmass, near Aspen in Colorado, where different members of their family have also lived from time to time, when not based in California.
This summer, before heading back to school, Oliver Hudson, his wife Erinn Hudson née Bartlett, and their three kids also spent some time with family in Colorado, which Erinn shared glimpses of on Instagram.

Oliver and Erinn, who have been married since 2006, share sons Wilder, 19, and Bodhi, 16, plus daughter Rio, 13, all of whom featured in Erinn's latest photo dump, plus Oliver, Erinn's parents, Kate Hudson's daughter Rani, Wyatt Russell's two sons, plus none other than Goldie herself.
Goldie, 80, appeared in a snap with members of Erinn's family and her grandson Bodhi, likely taken in her Colorado home, featuring large beams lining the ceiling, different shades of wood used for the various cabinets, and more rustic interior design features, from patterned floral wallpaper lining the shelves, to hanging overhead lights.
"End of summer….Colorado I love you," Erinn simply captioned the snaps, to which fans responded with comments like: "Wonderful pics and your folks look great!" and: "Colorado loves you! BEST STATE EVER," plus: "Omg you guys are so cute. Love it and Colorado too."
Why Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell love Colorado
Earlier this year, while in Los Angeles, Kurt, 75, spoke with People about why he prefers to be in Colorado over California, explaining that being there allows him to do the things "that I want to do," adding: "What I want to look at, what I want to be a part of — all the things that Colorado has to offer. I wanted to eventually get into the ranching life."
"When Goldie and I got together, a couple of years later, we both built a ranch there together, where our family has grown up. That was 40 years ago," he continued, although noted that his decision to move away from Los Angeles was not initially met with the most enthusiasm.
"I wasn't escaping. I was just living where I live," the actor said. "I was fortunate that it really didn't make any difference. But when I did it, nobody else was doing that. I had many people tell me, 'Well, that's goodbye. That's it.' I said, 'Well, we'll see.'"
Kurt continued: "I don't dislike LA. It's just not my preference in terms of how I like to live my life. You've got to understand something about the area of Old Snowmass. Everybody who lives there, they live there because they want to. I can't say that about LA."
And Goldie's just as much a fan, especially now that their son Wyatt and his wife Meredith Hagner now also live in Colorado with their boys. "What I enjoy most is that [Goldie] really likes it in Colorado," he told Fox News recently. "Wyatt and Meredith [Hagner] and their two boys, they live in Colorado now. So we like to spend as much time there as we can."
