Happy birthday Pink!

On September 8, the singer, whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore-Hart, celebrated her 47th birthday. And if there's anything the star has become synonymous over the years, it's her distinctive style, her performance abilities, and her ultra-toned abs.

Her style

From the very jump, Pink embraced a style that deviated heavily from other pop girls at the time, opting for more punk-inspired ensembles, bright neon colors, and her signature cropped 'do. Here, the singer is pictured during one of her earliest TV performances, on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 2000.

Maintaining her "edge"

Previously speaking with 60 Minutes, the "Just Give Me a Reason" singer once said of her look: "I never got a record deal because I was cute; I got a record deal because I was fiery, I had a lot to say, and I had a voice."

"So I'm relieved I don't have to fall back on, sort of conventional beauty. And that doesn't have to be my thing. And I don't have to keep that up, either, as I age. I don't have to be that. I can be all of this."

Welcome to the Moulin Rouge

As the star's own musical profile grew, so did the scope of her collaborations. That was especially the case with her team-up in 2001 with Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim and Mya for a cover of "Lady Marmalade" for the film Moulin Rouge.

The track cemented all four as pop culture stalwarts for the era, and gave Pink her very first number one single worldwide.

The 2004 Pepsi Super Bowl commercial

One of the most iconic moments from Pink's early years will forever be her appearance in Pepsi's 2004 commercial for the Super Bowl.

The band recruited Pink alongside Britney Spears and Beyoncé to perform a cover of Queen's "We Will Rock You" dressed as gladiators, and it's safe to say, history was made.

Tour style

Pink's ab-baring style also extended to her tour repertoire, although arguably, none as notably as her 2013 Truth About Love Tour.

Her 2014 studded black crop top and leggings look became an instant classic, and was her defining style code for years. Plus, it helped that this was the era that popularized her aerial performance style.

Pink and Carey

Many of Pink's most memorable moments over the years also include her longtime husband Carey Hart. The pair have been married since 2006, and despite a brief separation, have come back to become even stronger ever since.

In a tribute celebrating their love back in 2024, alongside a host of candid shots, she penned in part: "I'm proud we made it to the other side of this year. I wear our scars proudly."
