Nicole Kidman showcased her incredible physique in a plunging black bikini for Vogue Australia, but it was her candid admission about finding confidence at 59 that made the photographs even more striking.
Sharing the images on Instagram, the actress captioned her post "Homecoming," adding an Australian flag and blue heart.
In one photograph, Nicole posed in shimmering blue water, her wet, strawberry-blonde hair falling around her face. Her low-cut bikini top featured broad straps, while a chunky metallic necklace brought a glamorous finishing touch.
Another image showed her standing against a cream wall with one arm raised above her head. A gold Chanel emblem decorated her top, which she paired with high-waisted black bottoms and turquoise patterned pants worn low on her hips.
Elle Fanning couldn't contain her enthusiasm, commenting: "Oh my god these are sensational Nicole!" alongside a heart-eyes emoji. Joey King also responded excitedly, writing Nicole's name in capital letters.
Photographed by Lachlan Bailey and styled by Christine Centenera, the shoot accompanies an interview in Vogue Australia's November issue in which Nicole reflects on feeling increasingly at ease with herself.
Nicole Kidman on finding confidence at 59
Asked what it means to feel like Nicole Kidman, a question inspired by pop singer Adela's song named after her, the actress offered a refreshingly frank answer.
"I have no idea what it means to feel like me, because I can feel like shit, put it that way, and go, 'I don't feel like that today,'" she said.
However, Nicole explained that her "new thing" was a growing sense of self-acceptance.
"I'm just more comfortable in my own skin right now … Weird to get that by 59, but I'm glad to say I somehow got there."
She also revealed that Adela approached her before releasing the track, giving Nicole the opportunity to support the young artist.
"My whole thing is support these young artists, in whichever shape or form," she said.
"She's so young and she's so talented, and she can write hooks, right? I didn't hear the song, but she sent me the lyrics and I was like, 'Yeah, go for it. Go for it, girl'."
Nicole Kidman's approach to exercise
Away from the camera, Nicole has spoken about fitting movement around her work rather than relying on one particular workout.
"I run, ride my bike, do yoga, whatever I can do and wherever I am in the world," she told the Los Angeles Times in 2014.
Her approach to food has also allowed room for flexibility. Discussing her eating habits with Women's Health in 2013, she described aiming for balance rather than perfection.
"It's walking a path that's ultimately 80 percent healthy, 20 percent…sometimes it falls to 70," she said, in comments subsequently revisited by the publication.
Nicole Kidman on skincare and growing up in Australia
The actress's "Homecoming" caption also recalls the Australian upbringing she has credited with shaping her approach to sun protection.
Speaking to British Vogue in July 2025, Nicole discussed growing up with fair skin in a country where spending time outdoors was central to childhood. She recalled needing protective zinc cream while other children played outside.
The interview marked her appointment as a global ambassador for Clé de Peau Beauté, and Nicole spoke about taking sunscreen and a hat to Wimbledon.
She also described using facial oil as part of her evening routine, with moisturizing an important consideration before bed.
For Nicole, advances in sunscreen have made enjoying the outdoors easier: "I'm so grateful that there are protective creams you can wear that you can't see and have different choices of coverage."
