Jessica Alba embraced lingerie dressing for a night out in New York, posing in a black slip dress with delicate lace detailing in photographs shared on Instagram.

The 45-year-old actress showed off her legs in the short design, which featured slender straps, an asymmetric neckline and a sheer floral lace panel extending along one side of the skirt.

Leaning against a wall with one arm outstretched, Jessica crossed her legs to reveal a pair of black platform sandals with ankle straps. A patterned shoulder bag with a red strap added a splash of colour, while oversized hoops and a sparkling necklace completed the look.

Her highlighted hair fell in loose waves around her shoulders, with a centre parting framing her face. She finished her evening makeup with smoky eyes, defined brows and glossy pink lips.

A second, closer photograph captured Jessica smiling at the camera, offering a better look at the scalloped lace edging her neckline and the fine necklace sitting above it.

Jessica Alba's New York outings

The photographs followed a busy spell in New York for Jessica, who attended the US Open with her eldest daughter, Honor, 18.

The pair coordinated their daytime outfits in blue and white before changing into black lace dresses for an evening out. Honor chose a halterneck design, while Jessica wore her asymmetric slip dress. According to InStyle, they attended a Raising Cane's after-party at Bar CC, where Jessica was also photographed with boyfriend Danny Ramirez.

Jessica also celebrated Danny's 34th birthday on September 17, sharing an affectionate photograph of the couple kissing. The birthday tribute followed glimpses of their summer travels together, including time in Italy.

Jessica Alba's approach to fitness

Away from evenings out, Jessica previously spoke about learning to put less pressure on herself when exercising.

In her Women's Health cover interview for its January/February 2021 issue, she explained that she had once measured a successful workout by how exhausted it left her. Over time, she became more comfortable varying the intensity and accepting that every session did not need to push her to her limits.

At the time, Jessica said she exercised between two and four times a week and had discovered reformer Pilates. The sessions made her aware of muscles in her core that she had barely noticed before. "I never even knew I had those things," she told the magazine.

What Jessica Alba said about her diet

Jessica described a similarly flexible approach to food in the same interview. She explained that she aimed to eat plant-based meals and avoid alcohol on four days of the week, allowing herself more freedom over the weekend. "Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, all bets are off. That feels like moderation to me," she said.

Jessica Alba's beauty routine

Jessica also shared the preparation behind her makeup looks in a March 2020 beauty tutorial for Vogue. She explained that her sensitive skin influenced her product choices, with fragrance-free formulas taking priority. Her routine began with a hydrating mask and moisturiser before she moved on to makeup. "I've had such reactive skin literally since I was born," she said.

One technique she demonstrated involved applying different primers to different areas: a mattifying formula through her T-zone and a more luminous finish on her cheeks, a trick she credited to makeup artist Daniel Martin.

Some of her most consistent beauty habits, however, came from her mother. Speaking to Allure in 2011, Jessica credited her with teaching her to cleanse and moisturise regularly, even after a tiring day. "No matter how tired I am, I cleanse and moisturize every morning and night," she said.
