Howard Stern and his wife Beth stepped out together in Brooklyn this week, making a rare public appearance following the legal dispute involving their former assistant.
The broadcaster, 72, wore a black jacket, shirt and jeans, while Beth, 54, paired a yellow top with a long maroon skirt and coordinating heels. Howard also stopped to sign autographs outside Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
During the interview, the conversation turned to their forthcoming wedding anniversary. "I'm sending flowers. We're gonna have romance," Howard said.
Howard and Beth's marriage milestone
The couple are approaching 18 years of marriage, having exchanged vows in New York in October 2008. Howard's latest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! also gave him an opportunity to discuss his friendship with the presenter, including holidays they have taken together with their wives. The interview formed part of Jimmy's special week of broadcasts from Brooklyn.
The two presenters had already caught up earlier in the week, when Jimmy appeared on Howard's SiriusXM show. Their conversations coincided with Jimmy temporarily moving his late-night programme to the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
The lawsuit involving their former assistant
The outing follows a legal dispute with Howard's former executive assistant, Leslie Kuhn, who filed a lawsuit in April seeking to challenge confidentiality agreements connected to her employment.
Leslie alleged that she had experienced a hostile working environment. Her claims included complaints about responsibilities associated with the household and Beth's animal rescue work. Howard disputed her account, with his legal team describing the case in a court filing as "a thinly veiled attempted shakedown".
The case was subsequently dismissed. As detailed by Law Commentary, Justice Melissa Crane upheld the 2025 nondisclosure agreement, finding that Leslie had agreed to its terms.
The judge rejected her argument that the agreement had been forged, citing an email attaching the signed document. Howard separately agreed not to enforce an earlier confidentiality agreement from 2022.
However, the court declined his request for sanctions against Leslie, finding no evidence that she had acted in bad faith. The ruling concerned the confidentiality dispute and should not be confused with a finding on every allegation about her working conditions.
His on-air proposal to Beth
Jimmy's programme already holds a memorable place in the couple's relationship.During an October 2019 appearance, Howard invited Beth onto the stage before getting down on one knee and asking her to marry him again.
"You know you have given me the best years of my life. I love you so much," he told her during the televised moment.
Beth accepted, and the pair kissed as the audience applauded. The proposal came 11 years after their wedding and followed an earlier conversation in which Howard had suggested repeating the occasion.
How Howard met the woman he calls his great love
Howard has also spoken affectionately about the evening that first brought them together. Recounting the story on The Howard Stern Show in June 2020, he credited his friend and stylist Ralph Cirella with persuading him to go out for dinner at New York's Mercer Kitchen.
Howard had initially been reluctant to leave home, but changed his mind and met Beth at the restaurant. Despite her being there on a blind date with someone else, they connected, and he later walked her home. Reflecting on Ralph's role in their meeting, Howard described Beth as "the love of my life and the woman I adore"
