John Mellencamp, 75, looked unrecognizable in a heartwarming new post shared by his daughter Justice Mellencamp, 41.
She shared a sweet throwback picture of the father-daughter duo as a tribute for his 75th birthday on October 7.
In the nostalgic picture, John was seen rocking wavy shoulder-length hair, black shades and a dapper black tuxedo, as Justice donned a fluffy white dress with textured flowers throughout, while the pair lovingly held hands.
The post's overlaid text read: "Happy birthday dad," with a heart emoji. The star welcomed his firstborn Michelle Mellencamp, 55, when he was 19 years old, with his first wife Priscilla Esterline.
He welcomed Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave, 45, and Justice with his second wife Victoria Granuci, and his children Hud Mellencamp, 32, and Speck Mellencamp, 31, with Elaine Irwin, who was his third wife.
The singer was married to Priscilla from 1970 to 1981, Victoria from 1981 to 1989, and Elaine from 1992 up until 2011.
Based on John's disconnected upbringing with his own father, the performer always knew he wanted to have a special bond with his kids.
He revealed to Men's Health: "I wasn't very close with my own father. I mostly tried to steer clear of him."
John continued: "But now that I have a wife and kids, family time is a priority. I want my boys to remember these good times we're sharing together."
John is very adamant on squeezing the most out of quality time with his kids, adding: "We take the boys with us everywhere and we're always trying to open their eyes to new experiences."
Some of those fun experiences include concerts, motorcycle rallies, or playing together in their Indiana home.
Although his son Speck showed genuine interest in pursuing music just like his dad, John remained neutral on the matter, until his son grew older.
He shared: "He's pretty inspired right now, but we're trying to let it be his own thing. When it's a profession that's indigenous to your family, you want to be careful not to push one way or the other."
Although Speck didn't end up going into music, he went into the arts. He attended the Rhode Island School of Design and went on to become Southern Indiana Center for the Arts' executive director.
The father-son duo even displayed their paintings in an exhibition called Bloodline: The Art of John Mellencamp and Speck Mellencamp at the Butler Institute of American Art.
Justice became a professional hairdresser and Hud became an executive recruiter and co-founded his own brand called Mellencamp Whiskey.
Teddi was featured on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and launched her weight loss program called All In by Teddi. Michelle on the other hand lives a very private life.
