It's safe to say Jenna Bush Hager is not used to the countryside life. The Today Show host was caught off-guard during the October 16 episode of the show when a bird landed on her head – and the whole incident was caught on camera.
This week, the NBC morning show enjoyed a special broadcast that saw all four hours of the show hosted in County Kerry, Ireland at Sheen Falls Lodge, sponsored by Tourism Ireland.
Jenna took to Instagram ahead of Friday's installment of the Fourth Hour to share a photograph that captured the amusing moment when the bird perched on her head. Jenna, who was dressed in a blue knitted jumper and wool coat, closed her eyes and let out a nervous laugh.
Another photo in the post showed Jenna and her co-host, Sheinelle Jones, feeding a lamb with a bottle of milk. Jenna was also pictured with a great gray owl perched on her arm as she smiled to the camera.
"Ireland is a beautiful place. Here's a sneak peek at what you'll see on our show, live from Ireland, on Fri., Oct. 16. Tune in! @deanochapple for TODAY. Sponsored by: Tourism Ireland (@tourismireland). Venue sponsored by: Sheen Falls Lodge (@sheenfalls)," read the caption.
During the October 16 instalment of the show, the hosts enjoyed a relaxed episode, which saw them visit pubs to down pints of Guinness as well as speak to locals about the area.
Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones' friendship
At the end of last year, Jenna announced that Sheinelle would take over as her permanent co-host on the show. For eleven months, Jenna had been hosting with rotating guest hosts. She had a host of A-list guest hosts like Matt Rogers, Scarlett Johansson, Rosie Perez, Leslie Bibb, and many more, plus more familiar faces like her Today colleagues and her husband Henry Hager.
Through tears, Jenna said back in December 2025: "Over the last year, I have had the privilege of hosting this show with 60 incredible friends who all opened up to me, who inspired me. I've laughed, I've cried, I've made some incredible friends, and I've learned so much about myself."
She continued, announcing Sheinelle's new role: "Today I am so thrilled to announce I have found my forever friend, and we are going to start a brand new journey in January. I couldn't be more excited to share this person with you all."
Sheinelle had been part of the Today family since 2014, starting on the weekend editions and hosting the first hour.
