Good Morning America anchors Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos will be honored with a double-star ceremony on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on November 5.

During the October 28 episode of GMA, the hosts discussed the big news, with their co-stars congratulating them live on-air. Lara Spencer called the honor a "really big deal", and Michael Strahan joked that they all need to "start stretching" because they'll be on their knees a lot for photographs.

Robin has been with Good Morning America for over 31 years, having first joined the show as a feature reporter in June 1995. Meanwhile, George joined ABC News in 1997 as a political analyst and became a co-anchor of GMA in 2009.

The pair are the longest-running anchor duo in morning television, having co-hosted together since 2009.

Robin and George share a close relationship on and off the screen. Speaking with People in November 2025 about his favorite memory from co-anchoring the show, in time for GMA's 50th anniversary, George shared: "My favorite moment, if I had to say, was the day that Robin came back from a bone-marrow transplant and said, 'Good morning, America' for the first time."

"For her to come back and greet the audience again — and greet all of us again — it was just a proud moment, a joyful moment," he recalled. "It was a fulfilling moment, and it was a toast to the future."

However, the star was initially hesitant about sharing the spotlight with Robin. Looking back on his early days with the program, George said: "When they first came to me with the idea that I should join Robin as a co-anchor, I said, 'Are you kidding? That's not what I do.'  And I said, 'No.' We were living in D.C. at the time, and I just didn't think it was the right fit for me."

Robin and George will no doubt be supported by the respective families during the upcoming ceremony. Robin has been in a relationship with Amber Laign since 2005 after they were set up on a blind date by mutual friends. The couple tied the knot in 2023 at their home in Connecticut.

Back in 2021, Robin reflected on her coming out story during an episode of Good Morning America. Speaking to her co-stars, Robin said: "I shared with [Colton Underwood] something that my mother said when I told her about my sexuality, that I'm gay, and she said, 'God loves you because of who he is, not because of anything you do or don't do.'" The star first publicly came out as a lesbian in a 2013 Facebook post.

Meanwhile, George has been married to Ali Wentworth since 2001. The couple share two daughters, Elliot and Harper.
