Robin Roberts is taking some time off from Good Morning America — for both business and pleasure.
The veteran anchor was off the ABC flagship morning news program both on Friday, May 29 and Monday, June 1, having jet off to South Africa for a separate venture.
She is in Cape Town working on her next film for her producing company Robin Roberts Presents, a Lifetime movie, and revealed her wife Amber Laign luckily tagged along.
Taking to Instagram, Robin shared a photo of both her and Amber resting their feet, both sporting Adidas Sambas sneakers, with the latter's ankle tattoo also on display.
"Made it to South Africa for the filming of my upcoming @lifetimetv movie starring @sherrieshepherd & @alldondre," Robin wrote in her caption, referring to Angel in the Rubble, about a final survivor pulled from Ground Zero following the September 11, 2001 attack in New York City.
"The Mrs. joined me on the looong flight so need a moment to sit back and count our blessings," Robin added.
Fans were then quick to take to the comments section under the post and celebrate her time off, at least from GMA, with one writing: "Good luck with the shoot, drink some good white wine while in SA!" as others followed suit with: "Enjoy your time together. You are so amazing and uplifting," and: "Enjoy your time together and much success with filming your movie,' as well as: "Cool kicks! Enjoy your trip."
When Robin and Amber aren't traveling, the couple are based in Connecticut, and also frequent Key West in Florida for vacation.
Subbing in for Robin on GMA alongside George Stephanopoulos and Michael Strahan were Rebecca Jarvis on Friday, May 29, and Mary Bruce on Monday, June 1.
Robin, who has been with GMA since 1995, and as lead co-anchor since 2005, and Amber tied the knot at their Farmington, Connecticut home on September 8, 2023.
Speaking with the New York Times shortly before, she reflected: "I could not have imagined as a young girl growing up in Mississippi that I'd be sitting here with you in New York City, with my fiancée who is a woman, and freely, openly and passionately talking about it."
She noted that by 2014, they had thought about getting married, though it wasn't until the COVID-19 pandemic that they seriously considered it. "It was just kind of one of those things that we talked about off and on over the years," Robin recalled, emphasizing: "We don't need a piece of paper, we know our love is real."
