Irina Shayk just declared backless dresses as the hottest silhouette for the red carpet. The supermodel graced the 2026 WSJ. Magazine Innovator Awards on October 29 – and we're obsessed with her outfit.
The 40-year-old stunned in a white gown plucked from Issey Miyake's Fall/Winter 2026 Ready-To-Wear collection. The strapless dress featured a glossy corset bodice with a waist-cinching silhouette. The structure was layered over fabric that flared out delicately at the sides for an ethereal look. The gown boasted a completely backless cut that plunged to the lower spine. It was completed with a column skirt with a subtle back slit.
Irina opted for a sans jewelry approach to her sartorial agenda. Her dark locks were swept back into an elegant bun while her makeup was left natural and radiant for a glowing finish.
© Getty ImagesThe outfit comes after Irina walked in the 2026 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show on October 18. Her first look consisted of white lace bodysuit that was layered over black lace lingerie. The sultry combo was styled with sheer stockings and large white angel wings. The model's second look consisted of a pale pink négligée layered over a matching lace linger set that peeked through from beneath.

In September, Irina opened up to Vogue Arabia about turning 40. "I define myself differently. I don’t depend on people’s opinion. I know who I am and have power on the other side. And sometimes when I hear ‘no’ for a job I can do and want to do, I’m like, 'OK, it’ll take them a few years to see it,'" she shared.

"I’ve been very lucky to have my supporters who saw me in more ways than maybe even I believed I could be, put me in high-fashion runway shows and gave me opportunities to work in luxury magazines. And then once people see that you can do both, they follow."
She continued: "I feel like from my 20s to my 30s, it was a battle of getting my place under the sun. I don’t look back and think I’ve been in this industry for decades. I feel like I’m brand new."
