She's from the planet Earth, and her name is Jennifer Lopez!
For Halloween, Jennifer, 57, went with a costume inspired by one of her very close friends and former co-stars – Jane Fonda, aka Barbarella.
The Hustlers star transformed herself into the iconic '60s sex symbol, first posing for photos shared on Instagram in a ripped mesh catsuit with blood splatters and chainmail accent pieces, paired with arm gauntlets, a stun gun, silver boots, and big era-appropriate hair.
She also posed in a second look, this time a white plunging bodysuit with black piping and matching thigh-high boots, plus one of her tour dancers as Pygar. In one photo, Jennifer even posed topless with her back to the camera.
"BARBARELLA…I dressed up as my Monster-in-Law for Halloween…the original SPACE ANGEL Love you @JaneFonda," she gushed in her caption, and it's safe to say, fans approved of the tribute.
"Iconic n the baddest LATINA FOREVA," one gushed, with another adding: "You look amazing! You win Halloween!" a third going: "This suits you soooo much, loving it," and one similarly commenting: "What a gorgeous Barbarella!!!!"
Released in 1968 and directed by Roger Vadim, who would go on to become her first husband, Barbarella found Jane on the cusp of becoming an acting titan.
The actress played the titular character, a space ranger sent on a mission from Earth to find a scientist who could create a weapon capable of destroying all of humanity. Even at the time, the film was heavily noted for its sexual nature and relatively thin plot.
It was a commercial success, however, especially in the United Kingdom. In the years since, it has become a cult classic and Barbarella is one of the most recognizable pop culture figures and sex symbols from that era.
It wouldn't be long before Jane found more acclaim with dramatic work, earning her first of seven Oscar nominations for a film made the very next year, 1969's They Shoot Horses, Don't They?. She'd go on to win two Best Actress trophies, for 1971's Klute and 1978's Coming Home.
Jennifer and Jane starred together in 2005's Monster-in-Law, the latter's comeback to film. While the film received negative reviews, it has since also become a cult favorite, and the two actresses forged a strong bond on set.
Jane introduced Jennifer in 2011 for her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, and even appeared in her 2024 musical documentary film in support of the album This is Me…Now, which chronicles the rekindling of her romance with Ben Affleck and their subsequent marriage (which ended after two years).
In the film, the Klute star expresses how "invested" she is in Ben and Jennifer's renewed romance and marriage, although did warn them about doing "too much" PDA and asked the Office Romance actress to still keep her guard up, which Jennifer laughed off.
