Michael Strahan's Halloween prank went completely left.

The Good Morning America star donned a creepy clown costume for the festivities, complete with white face-painting and a red wig.

He sneaked up on NFL on FOX co-star Jay Glazer backstage before their football analysis show, but everything didn't go as planned, as witnessed on social media.

As Michael got closer, Jay playfully pretended to punch him, which startled the TV star.

Michael jumped backwards, causing the coffee to spill on the table, and onto his pants and shoes.

He quickly ran away but was overheard yelling: "Jay, can you clean that up?" Jay replied: "He should clean it up."

Jay's overlaid text read: "This is what happens when Michael Strahan tries to poke the bear on Halloween. What a jagoff."

Everything was all fun and games for the duo, as Michael reposted the hilarious prank gone wrong.

This isn't the first time that Michael has been involved in a prank, even if it's on the receiving end.

Last Halloween, Michael got pranked himself live on-air during Fox NFL Sunday, while hosting alongside Jay.

One of the show's producers sneaked up behind him while donning a black robe and white mask and managed to scare him. Michael yelled out: "What's wrong with you, man?" Jay said: "That's how you get someone hurt over here."

Michael joked: "When I punch somebody in the face around here on national TV…" He added: "That ain't funny," while warning his team "to do it again."

Michael and Jay have been friends for over three decades, and besides having fun together, the duo have been there for each other throughout the years. Jay previously opened up about their early roots and about their strong bond on social media.

Jay revealed that while he was a reporter for the New York Post in the early 1990s, Michael went out of his way to support him in an unexpected way.

He shared online: "[Michael] felt bad for me so he drove me back into NYC literally every day from fall of '93 to '99! Every day. I didn't have enough money for subway and bus fare each day, so he drove my broke [expletive] into the city literally every damn day. Basically, I owe him like 26 grand in Lincoln Tunnel fare."

Jay added: "But through it all, I got a ride-or-die brother. Absolutely invaluable!!!! Back in '93 we latched onto each other both of our first weeks. It was crazy, I immediately felt like I grew up with him."

He concluded: "GOD put that man in my life for a reason, and we've been able to lean on each other as brothers through the best times and some really, REALLY hard times. THAT is a brother! He's the best friend I've ever had and had I not met him I wouldn't be where I am."
