Jodie Kidd and David Blakeley's wedding: exclusive interview and photos in HELLO!

After a whirlwind romance that began just over a year ago, Jodie Kidd and David Blakeley were determined to plan every moment of their wedding day together. The lovebirds even managed to reunite with the classic 1953 XK120 Jaguar 'Betsey' which they drove to victory in this year's Mille Miglia road race in Italy. "She was our official wedding car and shared our special day with us," David told HELLO! magazine, who captured the couple's magical day in an exclusive interview and photoshoot.

Betsey's arrival was one of many nods to their shared passions throughout the day.

The adrenaline-loving pair married in Holy Trinity church, Plaistow, before hosting a sumptuous reception at the 16th-century home Jodie shares with David and her two-year-old son, Indio. "We looked at other venues, but then we thought, 'Why not do it at home, somewhere we love?'" David said. Jodie, 35, was radiant in a white Camelot-inspired gown and embroidered cape by Zaeem Jamal as she wed the army officer turned author and model.

Jodie and David reveal engagement to HELLO!"As soon as David and I met, I went through a huge 360 in my mind and thought, 'that's it, we're going to spend the rest of our lives together'," Jodie told HELLO!, crediting her beau with restoring her faith in marriage, knocked after the breakdown of her parents' union followed by the end of her own brief first marriage. Keeping to a "small and intimate" celebration, Jodie and David were surrounded by their closest family and friends, including the Kidd clan: mother Wendy; pregnant sister Jemma and her husband Arthur, Earl of Mornington, with their four-year-old twins Mae and Darcy; older brother Jack, with his girlfriend Callie Moore and their three-year-old son Jesse.

Indio acted as pageboy for his smiling mum, who was escorted to the altar by her father Johnny. "She just looked stunningly beautiful – drop-dead gorgeous," the former Special Forces commander said. "I'm the luckiest guy in the world," he added. "With my parents being childhood sweethearts, I wanted to get married. But I did wonder is I was going to ever meet someone I wanted to spend the rest of my life with."

"I was very happy being at home with Indi but then David walked in the gates," Jodie said. "It was extraordinary. Everything has changed in my life. He has given me the confidence to go and conquer the world." Pick up this week's copy of HELLO! out now for the exclusive interview and photoshoot, and download the app for extra pictures.
