ELISHA, GWYNETH AND CATE GO ON A LUNCH DATE IN HOLLYWOOD

21 SEPTEMBER 2006

As lunchtimes go, they don't get more starry than this. Elisha Cuthbert, Gwyneth Paltrow and Cate Blanchett were just some of Tinseltown's leading ladies who met up for mid-day chow at the annual Women In Hollywood event.

The popular actresses donned their finest for the power-luncheon at the exclusive Beverley Hills Hotel where they were also joined by silver screen luminaries Judi Dench, Sofia Coppola and Anjelica Huston.

Lord Of The Rings' Cate shone in a champagne silk wrap-dress while Canadian beauty and 24 star Elisha gave an ultra elegant performance, looking every inch the golden girl in her metallic skirt and matching heels.

London-based Gwyneth, who was handing out an award to Warren Beaty's wife Annette Benning, kept to classic black for the occasion. Her fans will be pleased to hear the Oscar-winning mum is set to return to the silver screen after a two-year hiatus.

"For a long time, I thought, 'I've done what I've wanted to do. I'm not interested. I just wanted to be home with my family'," the 33-year old told Harpers Bazaar. "I had no spark for work, but I feel the feeling back. And I'm excited about the prospect. I want to do something kind of fun, I don't want to do anything depressing or mad," she added.
