And the Belgian royals are set to meet the Queen on their first official visit to the UK in March.

As the final preparations are being put in place ahead of their arrival, a last-minute trip to the London's Piccadilly was on the cards in order to tick off all items on the royal shopping list.

Nathalie Trouveroy, wife of the Belgian Ambassador and heading up the welcome committee for the royals, gave high street shop Carpo London the official seal of approval when she picked up a selection of healthy yet delicious treats. There, she picked up roasted Macadamia nuts with Himalayan salt and a fruity goji berry mix, in anticipation for the royal visit.

Mrs Trouveroy, who was accompanied by a Belgian TV crew when she visited the Greek-owned nut, chocolate and dried fruit specialist, said: "I really love the concept at Carpo, from the tasty products to how the store looks visually.

"But not only that, the warm welcome you receive from the staff as soon as you enter the door is what keeps me coming back – it's truly a rare gem in the UK."

The deliciously moreish snacks will add the extra-special finishing touch to the room where the royal couple will retreat to, following a lunch with Britain's reigning monarch.

No-added-sugar dried fruits include pitted apricots, figs staffed with walnuts and dragon fruit while super healthy Gogi berries and unique treats such as dark chocolate with pink pepper and strawberry, dark chocolate with waffle and milk chocolate with salt and caramel are also tempting choices.
