The female residents of Brookside voted Louis's white Armani suit a winner as they toasted his special day with champagne

Louis, 47, pledges his love to 29-year-old Lisa, who looked stunning in a white corseted gown with a tulle skirt

As wedding bells chimed on screen for Jacqui Dixon and Max Farnham, in real life it was Brookside favourite Louis Emerick, better known as Mick Johnson, who tied the knot for real with his longtime love Lisa Crawford.

The pair sealed their love with a beautiful ceremony at the romantic Hillbark Mansion in the Wirral overlooking the picturesque Dee Estuary.

It was a rare opportunity for the Brookside cast - past and present - to take a break from their hectic work schedules and enjoy an idyllic day together.

They joined the bride and groom's family and friends as 47-year-old Louis, wearing a white Armani suit, pledged his love to 29-year-old Lisa, who looked stunning in a white corseted gown with a tulle skirt.

Best man and resident comedian for the day Michael ‘Mickey’ Starke, who played Louis’s on-screen best friend Sinbad in the soap, had the assembled throng in stitches as he pretended to have mislaid the couples’ rings.

And, as Lisa wiped away a tear when she and Louis were declared man and wife, Mickey quipped: “Well she would, wouldn’t she? She’s throwing her life away to Louis!”
