Although he admits they have had their problems, Seal is not ruling out a reconciliation with Heidi Klum.
"It may happen," the British singer tells Piers Morgan during an enotional TV interview, due to air in the US on Friday.
"My love for her has not waned one iota. I love her with all my heart."
"Is it irreparable? You can never say never. Obviously I can't speak for my wife," continues the artist, who announced his split with the model in a joint statement on Sunday.
"I'm not going to sit here and bs you, and tell you we haven't had problems.
"Of course we've had problems, otherwise why are we splitting up?
"We have issues but to our credit, we have always been able to talk about them, we have always been able to confront each other."
And the star says that he and the German beauty are still a team. "That won't change, whether we get back together or not."
The 48-year-old also revealed his frustration at comments that he was wearing his wedding ring "just for show".
"I'm still wearing my wedding ring because I'm still married to this incredible woman," he says.
"I'll tell you what this means to me – it stands for respect, it stands for loyalty, it stands for incredible memories.
"And it stands for these four little miracles – and Heidi making five – that have come into my life in these past eight years," he said referring to the couple's children.
They are parents to Henry, six, Johan, five, and daughter Lou, who is two. Seal also adopted Leni, Heidi's seven-year-old daughter from a relationship with F1 boss Flavio Briatore.
Despite his continuing love for his estranged wife, Seal is unsure of their future.
When Piers asks him if he wants a reconciliation to happen, he answers: "I know at this point to be honest."
"If it were that easy, if there weren't problems, we would still be together. That is the reality."
