Beyoncé is named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential people

Beyoncé has been named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential people in its latest annual list.

The superstar features on the cover of the new issue, with an interview inside by the CEO of Facebook, Sheryl Sandberg.

Posing in a white two-piece swimsuit covered up with a sheer glittery top, Beyoncé wears her hair down straight in the black and white shot.

Other stars who have been named on the list include Miley Cyrus, Amy Adams, Pope Francis, actress Christy Turlington Burns, Hillary Clinton, country singer Carrie Underwood, Happy singer Pharrell Williams, and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The "TIME 100" list is intended as a roundup of those who have inspired others in one way or another over the past year, regardless of their moral standing.

Malala Yousafzai, who was shot in the head by terrorists in 2012, wrote about Hillary Clinton, while Dolly Parton wrote about Miley Cyrus.

It’s definitely been a big year for Beyoncé, who surprised the world by dropping her album on iTunes completely unannounced and with no promotion at the end of 2013.

The usually Bootylicious Beyoncé dropped jaws at the Grammy Awards in January when she sashayed the red carpet in a white and nude gown, and at the BRIT awards, she performed XO for the first time in a shimmering floor-length sequined green dress.

Beyoncé revealed that her slimmed down image is thanks to a vegan diet, which she completes sporadically.

Her and husband Jay-Z have completed the diet challenge at least twice this year.

Beyoncé shared snaps of her regime, which included a super healthy peanut butter and chocolate chip-flavoured vegan protein bar cut into chunks with slices of banana on top, on her social media accounts.
