Ryan, who has kept his two children out of the spotlight, also spoke about his first daughter Esmerelda, revealing that he calls her "Es" and "Essy".

He chatted about how he likes to spend time with his eldest daughter, joking that his biggest challenge when he takes her out is that another child had begun to rub out her chalk drawings. He said: "we go to the park, we play with chalk…we always write her name in chalk but some kid keeps rubbing out her name and putting their own name in it, so now I'm in a proper tagging battle. And this kid has an unfair amount of chalk."

"I'm trying to explain to my little girl that this is [unacceptable]. She doesn’t care. She's like, 'Well let’s just chalk anywhere else,' and I'm like, 'No, no. They’re disrespecting your mother. Because, she gave you this name and they’re erasing it.'"

He continued: "You've got to be careful when you teach your kid what a reasonable amount of vengeance is."

The Notebook actor spoke about his family during a recent interview with Good Morning America, where he sarcastically joked about being the only man living with three girls. He said: "It’s heaven. It’s like walking through a field of flowers every day. I live with angels. It’s a ray of sunshine."
