Grange Hill stars today - what happened after they left school?

Emmerdale heartthrob Danny Miller appeared in Grange Hill in 2007, playing Kyle Brown, his first major television role.


The star is now best known for playing Aaron Livesy in Emmerdale, and has won over 15 awards for that role. He has also appeared in Scott & Bailey, and on stage in Cinderella.

Georgia-May Foote played Alison Simmons in Grange Hill from the age of 14, appearing on the show from 2005 until  2008.

Georgia has gone on to appear in both Emmerdale and Coronation Street, where she played Katy Armstrong from 2010 - 2015. That same year, the pretty actress proved her talents at dancing, reaching the final of Strictly Come Dancing.

Laura Sadler (right) started her acting career in Grange Hill, playing Judi Jeffreys back in 1997. Her character was killed off after falling out of a burning building in 1999 - tragically mirroring Laura's death in real life, four years later.

After leaving Grange Hill, Laura went on to play Skirty Marm in children's television programme Belfry Witches. At the time of her tragic death, she was appearing as Sandy Harper in Holby City.

Nineties soul singer Michelle Gayle played Fiona Wilson in Grange Hill back in 1987. Even then, she showed her musical potential, with her character starring in a rap duo, called Fresh 'n' Fly.

After Grange Hill, Michelle went on to have seven Top 40 singles in the UK charts. Back in 1990, the star also played Hattie Tavernier in EastEnders for three years.

Would you have guessed that a young Sean Maguire, who played 'Tegs' Ratcliffe from the age of 11, would go on to star in blockbuster movies across the pond?

Since leaving Grange Hill, Sean has appeared in films such as Meet the Spartans, and also took the lead role in British-American series, Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire. Most recently, he starred as Robin Hood in ABC's Once Upon a Time.

Susan Tully starred in Grange Hill back in 1981, playing schoolgirl Suzanne Ross for three years.

Susan went on to play Michelle Fowler in EastEnders alongside fellow Grange Hill star Todd Carty, making headlines when her character got pregnant at the age of 16 by her best friend's dad, Den Watts.

Who could forget schoolboy rebel Tucker Jenkins? The long running character was played by Todd Carty from 1978 - 1985, with Tucker being one of the most memorable characters from the show.

Since his Grange Hill days, Todd Carty has had a successful career on television, playing Mark Fowler in EastEnders and the psychopathic Gabriel Kent in The Bill

He has also taken part in Dancing on Ice and appeared on stage in Aladdin. Todd has proved his talents behind the camera, too, setting up his own production company, Swordfish Productions, with his wife.
