Paddy McGuinness and Keith Lemon put their own hilarious spin on Dirty Dancing’s classic watermelon scene on Saturday night. The comic duo got into costume to recreate the much-loved eighties movie, with Keith dressed as character Baby and Paddy as gorgeous dance teacher Johnny. Got to Dance and ex-Pussycat member Kimberly Wyatt starred as fellow dance teacher Penny, with more star appearances from Larry Lamb and John Barrowman. The sketch in The Keith and Paddy Picture Show was the talk of social media, with viewers taking to Keith and Paddy’s joint Instagram page to rave about the skit.
One follower wrote: “This was brilliant couldn't stop laughing cannot wait till next sat for ghost busters.” Another fan complimented the pair on their funny scene, writing: “The funniest thing on TV in a long while thanks for the laugher,” while a third viewer said, “Fantastic! Dirty Dancing is never gonna be the same again ‘dance with me Johnny’.” One fan was in tears at the scene, posting: “I cried laughing last night! Absolutely genius! I can't get over how good Keith was with baby's mannerisms.”

The scene begins with comedian Keith entering the dance party dressed as baby and carrying the now infamous watermelon, which in this case was absolutely huge! But instead of gorgeous young dance teachers, the room is full of Keith’s mum’s salsa classmates. The laughs go on from there, with Keith getting close to Paddy as he learns to dirty dance like the pros, even attempting the tricky flying move. The episode was the first of a five-part series, with next week’s sketch being a scene from hit movie Ghostbusters. Paddy and Keith have posted a preview picture on their Instagram page which shows the pair dressed as the movie’s couple Dana and Peter. We can’t wait!
