Tess Daly and Vernon Kay revealed the shock news that they are "amicably" ending their 22-year marriage on Friday, with a statement on social media.
The British TV personalities, who married in 2003, said in their joint message that they remain "great friends" and that there were "no other parties involved in the decision."

On her Instagram account, Tess has disabled the comments section from her most recent posts, likely to prevent followers from speculating about her recent split.
The couple's decision to part ways comes less than a year after Tess confirmed that she was stepping away from presenting Strictly Come Dancing, which she had been starring in since 2004.
Surprising news
The news feels particularly surprising as the former couple seems to have been looking happier than ever of late. Not only did Tess and Vernon host an episode of The One Show back in February - Vernon introducing his then-wife as "TV royalty" and joking that she would keep him "in check" - but they have also enjoyed two luxurious family holidays with their daughters.
The first was an epic ski trip to Val d'Isère in the French Alps, where Radio 2 host Vernon was photographed beaming alongside his then-wife while clad in stylish skiwear.
Then just last week, the Daly-Kay clan headed for a sun-soaked trip to a mystery tropical location where Vernon and Tess were pictured sitting on the beach together.

Despite their split, the statement seemed to be a positive one, as previously said, the pair remain "great friends" and explained that their sole focus is to be "most importantly, fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents, which will always be our priority."
The full statement reads: "After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably.
“This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire for what is best for both of us. We remain great friends and most importantly, fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents, which will always be our priority. There are no other parties involved in this decision."
