They may no longer be together romantically, but Tess Daly and Vernon Kay couldn't be more united when it comes to their children.
The former couple, who announced their shock split earlier this month after 22 years of marriage, joined forces for a mega clean-up at their £5 million Buckinghamshire mansion following their daughter Amber's 16th birthday party.
Talking about his bank holiday weekend on his Radio 2 show, he said: "Yesterday, we were tidying up, Amber had a party.
"Tess and I were running around tidying up and thank goodness that the weather was nice, do you know what I mean, with cleaning up the garden. We had such a good time, it was awesome on Saturday night and very funny.
"But in the morning, Tess and I were like, 'Woah, better get cracking!'" After his co-star Ellie suggested it was an "all day job", Vernon agreed, adding: "Yeah, brace yourself!".
Tess and Vernon are the proud parents of Amber and their elder daughter, Phoebe, 19, who is often seen joining her famous parents at glamorous industry events.
Parting ways
The update came after Vernon thanked his listeners for their support following the announcement that he and Tess were no longer together.
"I just want to say on behalf of myself and Tess, thank you, thank you, for all your well wishes, it's been greatly, greatly, appreciated," he said.
Tess and Vernon announced their split on 8 May with a joint statement on Instagram.
"After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably.
"This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire for what is best for both of us. We remain great friends and most importantly, fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents, which will always be our priority. There are no other parties involved in this decision."
Their separation came as quite a surprise, as just weeks prior, the pair appeared to be solid, and back in February, they hosted an edition of The One Show together, the first time that they'd jointly presented a show for 20 years. Opening the show, Vernon introduced his then-wife as "TV royalty" and joked that she would keep him "in check".
