Brooklyn Beckham has taken a thinly-veiled swipe at his ongoing feud with his family in a pointed new video.
Two days after his younger sister Harper paid a visit to his Los Angeles home where he lives with his wife Nicola Peltz, Brooklyn has taken part in an ad seemingly at his family's expense.
The 27-year-old, who is currently estranged from his father, former professional footballer David Beckham, and the rest of the Beckham brood, has partnered with food delivery company DoorDash for a short promotional video for the FIFA World Cup.
Sitting on a couch, Brooklyn said to the camera: "You're probably wondering why I'm watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home." The star then gave a small chuckle. "It's a long story," he added before getting up and throwing a stack of football tickets on the table.
The clip ended with a cryptic message on the screen which read: "It's complicated. More soon."
"We have a guess on why you're watching from home..." the official DoorDash Instagram account wrote beneath the post.
The video received mixed reactions from fans in the comments, ranging from praising the ad as "clever" and "excellent humour", to others who accused it of being "not cool" and a "shameful way to treat your family".
Harper's reconciliation effort
The ad comes after a representative for Brooklyn and Nicola dismissed any hope of reconciliation amid the ongoing Beckham feud, and said they believe Brooklyn's sister Harper's recent visit to his home was a staged photo opportunity.
Harper, 14, was pictured arriving at her brother's Beverly Hills property on Friday afternoon. She left a letter after it was apparent neither Brooklyn nor Nicola were home. The couple were instead in New York at the time.
They told HELLO!: "That photographers were in place as the letter was hand delivered says it all – this was choreographed for the cameras."
Brooklyn misses out on David's celebration
Harper had been in Los Angeles to support her dad David at his monumental Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. The former professional footballer was joined by his wife Victoria Beckham and their two other sons, Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 21.
However, Brooklyn was notably absent to see his father accept the honour in Hollywood on 13 June. The eldest Beckham child previously missed out on David's 50th birthday celebrations last year, and was not there when the former footballer received his knighthood from King Charles in November.
Following several absences from family events and milestones, Brooklyn broke his silence on the family feud rumours back in January with a scathing social media post in which he declared he has no desire to reconcile with his family. "I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life," he wrote.
Amid the ongoing tensions, David got emotional while speaking directly to his children during his Hollywood Walk of Fame acceptance speech. "I hope you bring my grandchildren here one day and tell them about a boy who dreamed big," he said.
He continued: "To make you all proud is my greatest achievement. I'm so grateful for you all, thank you, and thank you so much for this honour, L.A., it means so much."
