Brooklyn Beckham surprised fans when he was spotted starring in a DoorDash advert for the FIFA World Cup, despite his ongoing feud with his football star dad, David Beckham.
The Cloud23 founder, 27, posted a bombshell statement in January during which he said he has no desire to reconcile with his family after months of avoiding family events. But now, the advert, which was released on Monday, has left some asking questions as it appeared to contain a series of 'easter eggs' alluding to his ongoing family feud.
In the video, a stack of what appears to be unopened letters is sitting on his table. The moment could be interpreted as a nod to the moment Brooklyn's 14-year-old sister, Harper, attempted to deliver a letter to her eldest brother's LA home, while in California celebrating David Beckham's star being added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame last Friday.
The budding skincare mogul was photographed stepping out in a solo moment during her visit to the US, wearing the same outfit she had been photographed in for her father's milestone.
But Brooklyn and his actress wife, Nicola Peltz, were not home, and instead were in New York for Brooklyn's appearance at the New York Food and Wine Festival. Hours later, a representative for Brooklyn and Nicola said they believe Harper's visit was a staged photo opportunity.
"That photographers were in place as the letter was hand delivered says it all – this was choreographed for the cameras," they said.
While it's unclear if the letters in the video are an intentional slight on the family, as Harper's visit was so recent, other details appear to reference the ongoing drama.
More 'easter eggs'
Placed on top of the letters was what appears to be a new silver watch, replacing the £120K Patek Philippe Nautilus watch, which was given to him on his 21st birthday by his father.
Brooklyn was previously photographed wearing what he coined his "favourite watch" back in 2021, earlier this year, when stepping out with his actress wife in February, despite the ongoing estrangement.
He told Esquire back in 2021: "That’s my favourite watch - I wear that one every day. My dad bought that for me for my 21st birthday."
At the beginning of the advert, Brooklyn directly alludes to the feud, saying to the camera: "You’re probably wondering why I’m watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home. It's a long story," before putting six tickets to the football next to the watch and the pile of letters.
